The Best Wood Fired Pizza You’ll Ever Taste

Pizza ovens for home

Take the kitchen outside with outdoor wood fired pizza ovens! It doesn’t matter what the weather is like or what season it is; when you first take a bite of this delicious pizza you’ll be sitting in an Italian bistro in the middle of Venice, loving life. Before beginning, make sure that you have the correct pizza oven kits and wood fired pizza oven accessories if necessary. Once you have all the things you need as far as the actual utensils and outdoor pizza ovens, you are ready to begin making the dough.

You are going to need a large bowl. In that bowl mix the following ingredients:

2 C flour
1/8 t active dry yeast
1/2 t sugar
1 1/4 t salt

After these are mixed you will then add 3/4 cup of water and stir carefully until combined.

If the dough looks dry and lumpy, that’s normal. Now you need to cover the dough in room temperature and allow it to rise for 24 hours.

After the 24 hours has passed, place the pizza stone inside your outdoor wood fired pizza ovens and preheat to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. Let the oven sit for 30 minutes before placing your pizza on the middle rack.

You can work your dough while waiting for the oven. Place the dough on the counter with a sprinkling of flour so as it not let it stick. The recipe is enough for two pizzas so separate the dough into two even sections. You will then need to start the stretching and folding like this:

Grasp the dough at both ends and pull. Then, fold one side back onto itself and do the same with the other side, keeping your hands well covered in flour so the dough doesn’t stick to your skin. Do this to each piece of the dough until they are smooth ball shapes and then place them with the seams facing down into bowls prepared with flour and cover. The bowls need to be big enough to allow the dough to rise for about an hour.

You can roll the dough out a little and use your fingertips to crawl over the dough and then toss it back and forth across your hands gently, to stretch it out. Put the dough on a piece of parchment sheet for easy transfer and finally the crust is done!

Now you can spread on whatever sauce you would like to use and add whatever toppings you decide on. First cheese, mozzarella works best, then sausage, ham, pineapple, olives and parsley if it were a pizza for me. Top the other pizza as you wish.

Now it’s time to put the pizzas in your outdoor wood fired pizza ovens for between five and 10 minutes, watching to make sure the edges don’t burn.

Now you are ready to taste the glory! I suggest inviting over some friends to share in the deliciousness. You can’t not show this one off!
