Ergonomic beds may better support the natural S-curve of the back better than a traditional flat mattress. An adjustable bed may provide relief from lower back pain, poor blood circulation in the legs, and edema, or swelling of the legs.

There are several smaller tips on how to get a better nights sleep if you are having problems sleeping at night. One of these is to get better quality pillows. They make pillows from various materials and they range from extra soft to extra firm and everything in between. Pillows are also made specifically for back sleepers, side sleepers, and stomach sleepers. Find the pillow that fits you best and you will not have as many problems sleeping at night. To remain well rested throughout the day, The National Sleep Foundation recommends that people take short naps that are no longer than 10 to 20 minutes long.

Another tip is to get enough exercise. People who exercise regularly find they sleep better at night and do not have problems sleeping at night. If you are having problems sleeping at night, try to get enough exercise each day and chances are you will find yourself getting a better nights sleep. Another few small tips are having fresh air at night and the correct temperature in your room. If it is too hot or too cold you will have problems sleeping at night. Diet is another tip. If you have a good diet and do not eat too late in the evening you will sleep better. Exercise and a good diet help with several things in your body, and sleep is one of them.
